Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine

Chinese Herbal Medicine

Using the most sophisticated form of natural medicine in the world, many common health problems and diseases can be effectively treated with this natural and safe approach.

AN ANCIENT MEDICAL SCIENCE

Traditional Chinese Medicine is a complete medical science based in physiological functionality. This comprehensive system boasts its own diagnostic techniques and treatment modalities which include acupuncture and herbal prescriptions. The cornerstone of Traditional Chinese Medicine is Chinese herbology, which has been continually practiced and documented for over 2,500 years. It is one of the most sophisticated clinical systems in the world in terms of analyzing patterns of ill health and successfully resolving problems.

Unlike Western herbology, which promotes single herbs with singular symptomatic benefits, Chinese herbology uses herbs in concert to treat multiple disorders at the same time, by addressing the root of the issue. Our pharmacy contains many proprietary herbal formulas designed to tonify the human body and increase vitality. Herbs can be very powerful, but to be effective they must be prescribed based on a proper diagnosis and administered on an individual basis. Our compounding pharmacy is located inside our clinic and patients and visitors can see the compounding process of individual formulas from hundreds of Chinese herbs.

ARE CHINESE HERBS SAFE?

We have partnered with a company called Evergreen Herbs. When it comes to quality control we take our sourcing seriously. Your health and safety are our absolute priority. There has been quite a bit of concern about contamination of products coming out of mainland China and for this reason we have sourced our herbs from Taiwan, which has quality control standards that put the FDA to shame. ENVIRONMENTAL CONCERNS

When it comes to protecting the environment, we believe everyone should play a part. From seed to shelf, we work hard to find ways to produce products that are safe and effective, yet do not create unnecessary harm to the environment. In Chinese Medicine, we believe in balance, and it is with this belief that we operate our business and help protect the environment and natural resources for the generations to come.

Eco-Sensitive Farming: Our first choice of raw material supplier is from the farmers who follow the Good Agricultural Practices (GAP). In this way, we promote and help to ensure sustainable farming practices for high quality and a wide variety of Chinese herbs.

Reuse and Reduce: After extraction, certain herb dregs and biomass leftovers are transformed into organic fertilizer and returned to the earth for further growing activities. This reduces the amount of potential waste and promotes the re-use of valuable resources.

CITES Protection: In our effort to protect bio-diversity and the integrity of Chinese Herbal Medicine, we follow strict guidelines established by the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES) so as to not harm endangered animals nor protected herbal species. Evergreen ensures that animals/herbs on the CITES list, such as Tian Ma (Rhizoma Gastrodiae) and Xi Yang Shen (Radix Panacis Quinquefolii), have CITES permits indicating that they are obtained only from certified growers so we can protect the endangered animals and plants from extinction.

Energy Efficient: To decrease the burden on the environment, we do what we can at the office by inactivating or putting the computers, monitors, and lights on power save mode when they are not in use. This is just another little thing we do to help decrease the burden on the environment.
