Regenerative medicine is the use of substances, usually from the patient’s own body, to stimulate the patient’s body to repair itself. One of the most common substances used is Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP). We use PRP to treat arthritis of both large and small joints, inflammation of tendons and ligaments, and even spinal pain due to facet joint arthritis and degenerative disc disease. It is a short jump to use the same medicine to help cause healing in a patient’s face. Because we have such an extensive history in the use of PRP, we bring a wealth of experience to the treatment table.

Facial PRP can help restore youth to your face by stimulating the regeneration of tissue and collagen production, which keeps your skin soft and supple. The procedure is simple: we extract a small dose of blood from your body and spin it in a centrifuge to separate and concentrate the regenerative growth factors in the blood. We use a microneedling tool that makes tiny, shallow ‘holes’ on your face, which we then fill with the PRP concentration.

PRP microneedling is ideal for the treatment of acne scars, surgical scars, stretch marks, wrinkles and fine lines, hyper-pigmentation, lax skin, sun damage, large pores and uneven skin texture. It can be performed on either the face or body and is suitable for all skin types and color.

Your skin will completely recover between 24 and 72 hours, and collagen production will be kickstarted in about 4 to 8 weeks. You’ll continue to see improvement over this time. The best results are obtained with three sessions about a month apart. After that, you can get repeat treatments as needed.
